How much of ourselves can we give away? Can we choose who we belong to, or do we belong to everyone?
I’m listening to Weyes Blood, In the Beginning. She’s a beautiful alto, like a present day Townes van Zandt or Tim Buckley.
This song resonates with me right now. When you’re young it feels like even your dreams can take something from you, “In the beginning I was all dreams, but times have changed, I am no longer the same.” Maybe time demands us to stop dreaming, to give up ambition, to find the beautiful reality of living.
